in the spring - turning on your system

Each spring, we send an email to each customer letting them know the day we will be in their neighborhood performing system turn-ons. During this visit, our service technicians inspect each zone individually to ensure proper coverage and efficient watering. We check each sprinkler head for proper rotation and operation, as well as any leaks or other issues that may affect system performance.

Each timer is programmed according to the customer’s preferences; including watering start times, watering days, and total watering time for each zone. Fine-tuning these settings helps maintain an effective watering schedule while minimizing unnecessary water usage.

Any issues identified during the turn-on are addressed to ensure the system is operating at peak performance. Regular preventative maintenance can help keep irrigation systems running efficiently and catch smaller issues before they become larger, more costly problems, saving our customers both water and money.

Rebuilt irrigation zone valves outdoor following winter damage after not being winterized properly.  Winterization services ensure that no water gets trapped in zone valves, irrigation plumbing tied into the municipal water source, or sprinkler heads.  Without proper winterization, freezing can occur, causing damage and in some cases, preventable costly repairs.

in the fall- turning off your system

With the harsh New England winters we experience, winterization is an essential part of annual irrigation system maintenance. Each fall, we send an email to every customer letting them know the day we will be in their neighborhood performing winterizations.

During the winterization process, our service technicians use compressed air to clear water from all of the lines and sprinkler heads, helping prevent freezing and cracking of system components. A common and costly issue is damage to backflow preventers, which are located above ground where the water supply from inside the home connects to the irrigation system. Proper winterization helps prevent this type of avoidable damage.

Once all water has been cleared from the system, we shut down the irrigation timer for the winter and ensure the water supply feeding the system is turned off, helping protect the system and prevent unnecessary water and energy costs.
